In my recent move, I offloaded a bunch of my books to my office. Now I'm unboxing them and clearing off shelves and cleaning up the office.

The following constitutes progress:

Clearly I should clean up more often. This was brought home to me when I was clearing off a shelf and found these:

Actual preformatted diskettes from the now-distant 20th century! I'm not sure whether to trash them or preserve them carefully for the archaeologists of the future.

Many moons ago, I found a case of 5 1/4 floppies. Since I was working in low-budget theatre at the time, I brought the case to my Prop & Costume Guy. He made the disks into an armored stole for a cyber-cult high priest to wear.

Excellent! Tech is short; art is long.

I even have a device that reads diskettes, but I doubt I have a computer that could run the software for it. Maybe it's me who should be carefully preserved for the archaeologists...
