1. My last Blog Gate post of the year is up, part of what is turning into a running conversation with Judith Berman about fantasy and realism. (Here's her latest post responding in part to my post last week.)

2. Will the universe end in a Big Rip, a Big Crunch--or will it bounce?

3. Enjoy the year's end and beginning. Not order in that necessarily.

Thanks! The novel has a nearly reformed Morlock, the story has one behaving pretty badly. Both have a certain entertainment value, if you ask me, but I'm biased.

I was a little freaked to see my name yoked with Cook and Erickson.

I had another post on the tip of my electronic tongue, but I felt I had to start with Garth Nix or embarrass myself. Just remind me if I forget: Shakespeare in the Bush (not the one you may be thinking of, gentle reader) and what people are willing to accept as something that could possibly happen.

I liked the Nix post, even though it's going to cost me some coin (though nothing like what you guys are paying for books in Dubai, of course).
